POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Account Executive leads strategic management of existing direct clients, owning the annual renewal strategy and long‑term account planning. This role independently identifies and pursues complex upsell and expansion opportunities, drives financial optimization through strategic negotiation, and serves as a key influencer in client decision‑making. The Senior Account Executive is responsible for high‑level client retention, expanded revenue growth, and ensuring delivery of superior customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSStrategic Client LeadershipOwn and manage strategic client relationships, serving as the primary point of accountability for ongoing performance and satisfaction.Independently manage complex or sensitive client discussions, maintaining composure and influencing outcomes effectively.

Advanced Upsells, Expansions & Revenue GrowthIdentify expanded upsell opportunities across therapies and networks, incorporating strategic considerations such as therapy exclusivity, market trends, and long‑term value creation.Demonstrate a “hunter” mentality, proactively identifying opportunities based on client dynamics, market insights, service differentiators, and emerging pain points.Evaluate utilization at deeper levels (e.g., volume by access tier/therapy) to support complex negotiations and communicate client risk effectively.

Negotiation & Financial StewardshipNegotiate independently with Underwriting on network and margin decisions, articulating broader market impacts and long‑term strategic value.Identify “give‑to‑get” trade‑offs to protect or recover lost margin within the payer landscape.

Strategic Planning & PerformanceLead development and execution of client‑specific strategic plans; monitor KPIs and adjust strategies as needed.Deliver performance reviews and strategic updates with executive‑level clarity.

Communication & Executive DeliverablesCommunicate with clients with little to no preparation, including during challenging or high‑stakes conversations.Independently draft clear, professional written communications, including during difficult negotiations.Develop client presentations and supporting materials with minimal to no assistance.

Cross‑Functional LeadershipDirect activities of internal Account Management and extended team members to support client strategy and resolve complex service issues.Lead special initiatives, cross‑functional efforts, and strategic projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS8–12 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or Master’s degree with 6–10 years relevant experience.Advanced communication skills in verbal, written, and presentation formats.Strong analytical capability, including ability to translate complex utilization or financial data into negotiation leverage.Demonstrated independent negotiation capabilities with senior stakeholders.Strong project management skills and ability to drive complex initiatives.Ability to travel up to 20%.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
