Job Description
The Coordinator is responsible for receiving and scheduling delivery orders and requests from customers, exercising discretion and independent judgment to manage customer requests and schedules effectively. This role involves entering orders into the computer system for dispatch, requiring specialized training and knowledge of the transportation industry.
ResponsibilitiesSchedule all delivery orders and requests from customers.Relate customer requests and schedules to dispatch.Enter orders into the computer for dispatch.Ensure rail billing is in place before container delivery to the railroad.Validate in-bond documentation with US customs when necessary.Verify bookings are released at depots for export moves.Trace import containers on the rail to confirm delivery is made by the last free day.Prepare customer reports and tracking/tracing as required.Notify Cargo Specialist Supervisor/management of all service failures.Propose and implement solutions to improve customer service.Create and update location profiles in the computer system.Work as a dispatcher as dictated by volume or vacation schedule.Complete other projects as assigned by management.Essential SkillsCustomer service experienceDispatch knowledgeProficiency in Excel database managementScheduling and coordinating skillsEffective communication of customer delivery needs and appointment dates/timesAbility to quote rates to customers and relate service requirementsCustomer support proficiencyOrder entry skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsData entry skillsGood communication and organizational skillsEmail and general office dutiesInnovative thinkingKnowledge of port and rail operationsUnderstanding of US customs processesFamiliarity with the trucking industryWork Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.44 - $26.44/hr.
