Job Summary

The Access Services Coordinator helps the Supervisor and Manager with daily activities. This position leads staff during shifts, aids in training, maintains quality, and manages work volumes. It also handles daily financial services activities.

Essential Functions of the RoleMonitors the day-to-day activities of the team according to performance standard goals.Assists in allocating and managing staff work functions in relation to work volume.Delivers feedback to staff on performance and quality standards.Initiates recommendations regarding process and efficiency improvements.Performs daily financial services activities. This includes pre-registration, point of service collections, insurance verification, workflow monitoring, and data collection and review.Assists with project development and implementation.Assists with in-service education related to various departmental functions as well as related computer systems.Assists in monitoring registration accuracy and quality compliance.Attends department related seminars and provides new and updated information to all staff.Interacts as a team member representing Access Services. Serves on designated committees and attends meetings as directed.Key Success FactorsAbility to maintain effective communication with internal and external customers, via verbal, written and computer skills.Requires knowledge of general insurance terminology to include, but not limited to, governmental and commercial payers.Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.Proven written and verbal communication skills.Requires good listening and communication skills, and professional telephone etiquette.Maintain a professional demeanor in stressful and emotional environments. This includes crime, behavioral health, suffering patients, and life or death situations.Must exhibit high empathy and communicate well with patients and families during trauma, while showing exceptional customer service skills.Proficient typing and keyboarding skills. Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office.Works autonomously and self-starter.Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.Belonging Statement

EDUCATION - Associate's or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualificationEXPERIENCE - 2 Years of Experience
