Academy Manager
Charlotte, North Carolina
The Academy Manager is responsible for management of the Dentsply Sirona Academy in our Charlotte location with an emphasis on event execution. The Dentsply Sirona Academy is a state-of-the-art training facility for dental professionals who seek comprehensive clinical and technical continuing education, including hands-on teaching, live lectures, and on-demand webinars featuring courses taught by experts in all fields of dentistry. This position also oversees the Canadian Academy events team.
Academy responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Academy teams in Charlotte and Canada to ensure the successful execution of all events. Collaborates with internal teams to develop, implement and execute customer and sales team training events consistent with business needs, practices, regulatory requirements and industry standards. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment to ensure the DS Academy continues to be the pre-eminent destination in dentistry for clinicians at every level. Continuously manages, forecasts and reviews program budgets to ensure accuracy. Tracks and reports expenses to key stakeholders and communicates changes to them on a consistent basis. Works with finance team to initiate and reconcile vendor payments in a timely manner. Oversees master calendar of events for the Academy. Develops and continually refines processes and protocols to deliver a best-in-class customer experience. Provides strong mentorship and leadership to direct reports. Maintains a professional-level meetings commitment, including a flexible schedule that may include occasional evenings, weekends and holidays hours to support event preparation and execution.
Years and Type of Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, health science, public health or communications from an accredited college or university. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a corporate environment The preferred candidate will have managed direct reports and budgets more than $1m
Key Required Skills, Knowledge and Capabilities:
Must possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Passion for leading and inspiring a team, and best in-class customer service. Strong attention to detail and careful follow-through. Creative and strategic thinker with a proven track record in events and leadership. Ability to work independently, proactively, under pressure and collaboratively with team members at all levels of the organization. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, Word and SharePoint. Knowledge of Salesforce and Cvent is a plus. Strong negotiation skills. Available to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events. Knowledge and experience in the dental industry is a plus.
