**Job Overview** Under the direction of the Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician III is responsible for day-to-day comprehensive pharmacy technician services in a complex healthcare environment. This may include dose dispensing technology and sterile medication compounding, and chemotherapy medication compounding. The Pharmacy Technician III will function as a subject matter expert in at least two advanced technical areas and can skillfully use interpersonal, customer service, problem solving and collaboration skills to support and influence operational objectives. **Responsibilities** + Partner with care providers and pharmacists to ensure that patient receives the needed medication accurately, safely, in accordance with all legal requirements and policies and in a professional and timely manner. + Under the direction of the pharmacist, receive prescription/orders from electronic medical record, process manually or using the appropriate computer system and protocols, prepare drug therapy and/or dispense medication in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with all legal, regulatory agency and Fairview requirements. + Maintain the IV hoods or isolators, clean room, ante room according to manufacturer’s specifications and regulatory requirements as applicable. + Coordinate ordering, delivery of medications, supplies and equipment to patients and clinical areas as requested. + Participate, coordinate or lead regulatory, quality assurance and process improvement activities and other projects as assigned. + Facilitate the training of pharmacy technicians. + Other responsibilities as assigned including but not limited to: data collection, reporting, process improvement and maintenance of patient education materials. **Required Qualifications** + 1 year of pharmacy technician experience in a complex healthcare environment + Eligible to become registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the MN State Board of Pharmacy and eligible to become certified with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board. + Nationally certified or become certified.
