Job Title: 3rd Shift Mechanical AssemblerJob Description

The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling, installing, and testing mechanical components and systems according to blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications. This role involves using hand tools, power tools, and machinery to fit and align parts, ensuring the final product meets quality standards.

ResponsibilitiesFit, align, and assemble mechanical parts, subassemblies, and components using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to determine assembly sequences and ensure accurate construction.Conduct visual inspections and quality checks to identify defects or irregularities, making adjustments or repairs as needed to meet specifications.Test assembled products for functionality and troubleshoot issues to ensure mechanical reliability.Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other assemblers to resolve assembly issues and improve processes.Assist in training new hires or mentoring junior assemblers.Communicate with purchasing and/or Plant Manager regarding any supplies needed for the department.Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while handling materials and operating packing equipment.Maintain work area per company 5S Standards.Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.Essential SkillsProficiency with hand and power tools, measuring instruments.Basic computer skills for documentation or operating automated systems.Strong understanding of mechanical systems, components, and assembly processes.Ability to follow detailed instructions and ensure high-quality assembly with minimal errors.Capability to troubleshoot and resolve assembly or equipment issues efficiently.Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and report issues to supervisors.Ability to read and understand English.Welding experience.Mechanical assembly skills.Proficiency in using a tape measure.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This position is for the 3rd shift, running from 3:30 pm to 2:00 am, Monday through Friday. The environment can be hot in the summer, but doors are kept open for ventilation. The workplace is clean, and all necessary tools will be provided. Safety is a top priority.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Machesney Park, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.70/hr.
