What You’ll Do
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you’ll take ownership of installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of machinery and mechanical systems. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to problem-solve, hands-on. You will:
Complete maintenance repairs and work orders with precisionPerform routine preventative maintenance to keep equipment running at peak performanceInspect machinery for potential malfunctions using visual and sound-based diagnosticsUse a wide range of hand and power toolsCollaborate with team members in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentMaintain and troubleshoot boilers, mechanical systems, and electrical systemsSet up and install high-speed mechanical sealsTroubleshoot electrical circuits, control systems, motors, and electro-pneumatic systemsConduct daily wastewater testing and document resultsProvide excellent internal customer service and supportWe operate with a safety-first mindset—always. You’ll uphold essential safety practices such as lockout/tagout, confined space entry, proper PPE use, ladder safety, GMPs, food defense procedures, and more.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll thrive in this role if you are mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to getting the job done right the first time. Ideal candidates bring:
2–5 years of maintenance mechanic experienceHigh School Degree or equivalentKnowledge of electrical circuits, safety codes, food plant safety standards, and NFPA 70eExperience with computers and microprocessor systems (Microsoft Word & Excel preferred)A proactive, problem-solving mindset and dedication to safe work practicesWhy You’ll Love Working at AFB
