Job Title: Material Handler/Forklft Operator
Job Description
Join our team as a Material Handler in the Shipping/Receiving department of a heavy industrial facility. This role involves receiving all metal and related parts for assembly, performing cycle counts, and staging products through production. While you'll occasionally operate a sit-down forklift, expect to spend the majority of your day on your feet, handling materials and lifting weights of 50-75 pounds. Your responsibilities will also include grinding and smoothing metals using a table grinder, and packaging, wrapping, and labeling products for shipment.
Shift: 2:00pm to 10:30pm Monday through Friday
Pay: 18.15-18.70/hr depending on experience
Responsibilities
Receive and process metal and related parts for assembly.Conduct inventory cycle counts and maintain accurate records.Stage products through the production process.Operate a sit-down forklift as needed.Lift and handle materials weighing 50-75 pounds throughout the day.Use a table grinder to grind and smooth metals for production.Package, wrap, and label products for shipping.Essential Skills
Experience in inventory control and cycle counting.Ability to lift 75 pounds consistently.Proficient in staging, palletizing, wrapping, and packaging.Strong organizational and analytical skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Manufacturing experience preferred.Warehouse experience involving heavy labor is acceptable.Forklift experience is a plus.Mechanical inclination is advantageous.Experience working with metal is a plus.Why Work Here?
This position offers a contract-to-hire opportunity with benefits such as a pay raise, profit sharing, PTO, paid holidays, and a 401k upon conversion to a permanent role. Profit sharing bonuses are paid quarterly and typically add about $1 extra per hour. Benefits are provided immediately once permanent. With the company expanding to a new facility, there are opportunities for advancement and cross-training in areas like wiring, mechanical, welding, CNC machinery, and more.
Work Environment
The work environment is a large, open bay production facility with multiple workstations and bays. The production floor is not climate-controlled, though industrial-sized ceiling fans are used for air circulation. Safety shoes, safety glasses, and ear plugs may be required due to the presence of forklifts and manufacturing machinery.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
