2027 Commercial & Investment Bank Risk Management Summer Analyst Program

Join our team of industry experts to manage risk for our global businesses and collaborate with professionals across the firm. As an intern, you'll be part of a supportive team where your perspective is valued, helping to innovate products for our clients. You'll receive training, mentorship, and engaging projects to develop your expertise.

 

As a risk manager in our Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB), you'll help manage our financial reputation and regulatory performance, work across the 

business to shape decisions, influence models, and interface with regulators. Understanding, mitigating, and managing risk is central to our business and critical to our success.

The nine-week summer program begins with an orientation and training session in New York. Expert instructors and JPMorganChase professionals will guide you through our history, products, and the intellectual property that serves our clients. You'll learn skills in valuation analysis, accounting, corporate finance, economics, equity capital markets, debt capital markets, and risk analysis.

 

You'll build your technical and practical knowledge on-the-job with opportunities in one of the following groups:

 

Credit Risk Team: Assess client credit strength and analyze the firm's retained credit risk related to lending and trading activities. Locations: New York, NY; Plano, TX; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Chicago, IL; Los Angeles, CA

Market Risk Team: Track market events, perform portfolio analysis and provide risk advisory for multiple asset classes, including FX, Rates, Equities, Credit, Securitized Products and Commodities retained by the firm. Locations: New York, NY

Chief Investment Office, Treasury and Corporate (CTC) Risk Team: Manage the risk of the retained portfolio generated from CTC businesses, including Market Risk, Credit Risk, Reputational Risk, Country Risk, Principal Risk, and Model Risk. CTC Risk is also responsible for the independent risk management of Firmwide Liquidity Risk, Interest Rate Risk, and Capital Risk. Locations: New York, NY

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

Attend college/university in the U.S.Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.Expected graduation date of December 2027 through June 2028 from bachelor’s or master’s programIf you are pursuing a master’s degree, it must be completed within 2 years of your bachelor’s degreeTo be eligible for this program, you must be authorized to work in the U.S. We do not offer any type of employment-based immigration sponsorship for this program. Preferred Qualifications

Coursework in finance, economics, or accounting a plus
