2026 Summer Intern - Commercial Strategy (HYBRID)

Equitable’s Commercial Strategy team is seeking a high-impact intern to support the strategic planning and analysis efforts that guide Equitable’s Retirement and Wealth Management businesses.

You will work closely with the Head of Commercial Strategy and the President’s Chief of Staff to support market research, strategic analysis, and executive-ready deliverables that inform business decisions across the portfolio.

What You'll Be Doing

Conduct primary/secondary market research (competitors, customer segments, channels, technology trends) and synthesize insights into clear recommendations.Analyze business performance metrics and support development of dashboards or insights for leadership.Partner with enterprise functions to drive key initiatives (e.g. finance, commercial businesses, communications, IT, HR, etc.)Draft presentations, briefing materials and short executive memos in partnership with the Chief of Staff team.Assist with project management routines (timelines, risks, dependencies) across concurrent initiatives.Support planning and logistics for leadership meetings and special off-sites.

Internship Details

Dates: Nine week program starting in early June 2026
Hourly Rate: $22/hour
Location: New York, NY
Work Environment: This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with an on–site presence of 3 days per week on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday that allow flexibility with team collaboration.

What You'll Bring

Required

Rising senior or rising junior working towards a four-year undergraduate degree with course work in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or related field.Strong proficiency in Excel (modeling, pivot tables, lookups) and PowerPoint (executive storylining, visuals).Structured problem-solving, excellent written and verbal communication, and comfort working with ambiguity.Ability to manage multiple workstreams, meet deadlines, and work in a hybrid, collaborative environment.Ability to work the full duration of the program

Preferred

Experience with financial modelling and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel modeling, Tableau, SQL) a plus.Demonstrated interest or hands on experience with AI tools and technologies, including generative AI (e.g., copilots, LLMs, prompt engineering), agentic AI, and applying AI to research, analysis, or workflow automation.Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and intellectual curiosity.Prior internship or project work in strategy, consulting, finance, product, or corporate development.

Skills

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to in a wide variety of situations.

Teamwork: Belief in the necessity and value of teamwork; experience working cooperatively towards shared goals and being supportive of others at all levels.

Communication: Understanding the importance of insightful listening and communicating along with the ability to provide information and messages in a way that produces clarity and impact.

Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.

Continuous Learning: Understanding of the rationale behind the necessity to continually learn and grow and the ability to seek performance feedback and identify approaches to improve own performance and that of others.

Results Orientation: Knowledge of the importance of meeting or exceeding established targets; ability to drive critical activities to completion.
