**About the Role**
Uber Scaled Solutions is one of Uber’s biggest bets, with the ambition to build one of the world’s largest data foundries for AI applications. Data Labeling operations is a core functional team within Uber AI Solutions (UAIS), responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of annotation programs for B2B clients. At its core, our success in this space is defined by our ability to build industry-leading data annotation programs.
As a seasoned program manager, you will be a “builder-owner” with a “go-get-it” mindset who is ready to solve and build early stage projects. You will also solve zero-to-one problems by demonstrating the ability to build the vision while rolling up your sleeves to dive deep into execution and identify opportunities for improvement. See the forest and the trees, we say. You will also represent UAIS along with our Account executive in front of our customers and hence have to demonstrate a strong customer-obsessed mindset
You will drive cross-functional efforts with geographically distributed teams including Operations, Product, Engineering and Legal to define the Program level execution strategy, product roadmap, define scalable data labeling workflows leveraging internal tools, external vendors, and automation.
\-\-\-\- What the Candidate Will Do ----
**Core Operations and Execution**
- **Zero-to-One Strategy**: Define programs and key objectives from scratch to support LLM model training in the burgeoning Gen AI space.
- **Operational Muscle:** Design and drive scalable data labeling workflows that leverage internal tools, external vendors, and automation.
- **Optimization:** Relentlessly optimize workflows for efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness, incorporating active learning and pre-labeling.
- **Resource Management:** Forecast resource requirements and manage program budgets, including vendor costs and internal resource allocation to meet deadlines.
- **Quality Frameworks:** Implement robust quality assurance processes and use metrics like inter-annotator agreement and precision/recall to monitor and improve output
### **Project Governance**
- **Client Representation:** Act as a key technical lead in Customer meetings, translating complex requirements into success criteria.
- **Cross-Functional Leadership:** Drive efforts across Operations, Product, Engineering, and Legal to define Program-level Ops strategy.
- **Vendor Management:** Engage and manage high-level relationships with data labeling vendors, ensuring adherence to strict quality standards.
- **Inclusive Advocacy:** Influence stakeholders to adopt inclusive and unbiased labeling practices to mitigate bias in AI models
### —\- Basic Qualifications —-
- **2-3 years of experience** managing scaled operations programs, with 1+ year in GenAI/model training including text, image, video or audio data labeling
- Graduating in 2026.
- **Proven track record** of managing large-scale projects with cross-functional teams and external vendors in fast-paced, **ambiguous environments**.
- **Strong technical knowledge** of machine learning concepts and data annotation platforms.
- **Excellent communications skills**, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders

- **Builder Mindset:** Demonstrated ability to take initiative, make **big bets**, and work independently across internal and external organizations.
- **Domain Expertise:** Familiarity with human-in-the-loop systems, data annotations tools, and ethical AI best practices
- **Technical knowledge** of machine learning concepts and data annotation platforms.
- Strong understanding of the gig economy landscape, freelancer behaviors, and recruitment strategies
