The Software Design Assurance Engineering (DAE) Team is responsible for designing the framework and cutting edge solutions for assessing the software products developed by Zebra Technologies. We are a small globally distributed team with members having extensive industry experience in embedded devices as well as cloud native SaaS solutions. We are looking for a dynamic intern for developing the next generation of GenAI based solutions in a fast paced professional environment.

 

This role is expected to start in May and run through August.

Responsibilities:

After an initial on the job training shadowing senior members of the staff to learn the current state of the art processes, the intern will be responsible for developing new GenAI based tools for the SW products developed by Zebra Technologies.

 

This will include but not limited to:

 

Utilizing GenAI tools to automate Release Readiness Reviews (RRR) process for any Zebra product under development.Use different LLMs such as OpenAIs ChatGPT as well as Google Gemini and report on strengths and weaknesses of both.Pilot newly developed GenAI tool on real world data and demonstrate performance using objective metricsGeneralize the pilot tool into a standard platform for use across the organization Deployment of trained models in production environment using LLMOps.

THIS IS A HYBRID INTERNSHIP. THIS INTERN MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ONSITE AT ZEBRA'S MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO OFFICE AT LEAST 3 DAYS/WEEK.

 


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s /Master’s program in computer science, engineering, data science or any other STEM fieldMust have an anticipated graduation date before June 2027.Must be authorized to work in Canada without requiring sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Experience in SW development and testing processes such as unit testing, regression testing, functional testing etc.Experience in AI/ML and GenAI based projects.Programming experience in SW languages such as C, C++, C#, python etc. Candidates with strong interest in and/or having done academic course work in any of the following: computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, GenAI, LLM models etc. Proficiency in engineering tools such as git, github, JIRA, Polarion etc.Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)Intellectual curiosity with a strong desire to learn and growProven leadership and excellence in professional, academic, and/or extracurricular experiencesAbility to collaborate as part of a teamEffective verbal and written communication skillsGood knowledge of PC architecture and all Windows operating systems, with some basic Linux knowledgeMust be able to work onsite at Mississauga, Ontario at least 3 days/week.Excellent knowledge of EnglishThe candidate must like to work in a dynamic, team spirited environmentDevelop planning, organizational and leadership skills.Increase technology knowledge and skills, especially as it relates to Zebra’s product portfolio.Manage team-based work assignments.Practice interpersonal skills to connect with day-to-day business contacts through follow-up activities.

Rate: CAD $27.00 - CAD $36.00 hourly
