Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineer Systems. This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in Rancho Bernardo (San Diego), CA.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Product Support Organization performing System Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineering Analysis.
The selected candidate will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Other duties include:
Reliability and Maintainability – Establishing, monitoring, and verifying subsystem Reliability & Maintainability performance requirements for all design changes and new development efforts
Work from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
Perform R&M allocations and predictions.
Develop Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) analysis
Develop mission reliability analysis
Support the development of teams in the investigation of issues
Perform Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
Maintain failure database, perform root cause analysis, and track corrective actions through the Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS)
Liaison with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and suppliers for the R&M of assigned subsystems
Develop recommended solutions to technical problems assigned
Basic Qualifications for an Engineer Systems (T02)
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
Be completing or has completed their Master’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2026.
Be majoring in or having majored in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering and 2 years of engineering experience.
Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.
Preferred Qualifications
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher.
Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)
Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).
Experience in Reliability & Maintainability analyses including those listed above.
Pay Range
Engineer Systems: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00
