Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Systems and Automation Engineer. This position will be located at our Space Systems Sector in Morrisville, NC.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Payload and Ground Systems Division.

Roles and Responsibilities

Software and automation development

Develop engineering and automated deployments for network configurations

Develop engineering solutions for space-based and ground-based systems

Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and redline documented procedures

Implement engineering changes to the system as required

Work with open-source software and board development

Responsible for integrating and testing software and/or hardware in complex IT systems

Work closely with Engineers and Technicians in a lab environment

Good planning, coordination, and documentation skills are required

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels

Basic Qualifications: 

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor’s) from an accredited institutionBe majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degreeBe able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Experience in or knowledge of scripting/programming languages such as Python

Experience with deploying and writing software

Excellent writing skills, communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
 

​Preferred Qualifications: 

Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher

Active DoD TS/SCI clearance/program access

Networking experience

Ability to author and maintain technical installation, configuration, and update documentation

Solid programming skills in Python and/or C++

Familiarity with Ansible and/or Terraform

Familiarity with Docker/Podman

Familiar with Agile methodology

Familiar with version control, GIT experience preferred
