Sycamore Creek Community Charter School is seeking compassionate, reliable, and collaborative Substitute Teachers to support our Early Childhood (TK-Kindergarten) and Grades (1st-8th) programs. Our ideal substitutes are individuals who appreciate Waldorf education, can provide a warm and nurturing classroom presence, and are comfortable stepping into a variety of learning environments Sycamore Creek Community Charter School is a WASC accredited Waldorf inspired Charter school that serves 230 children TK through eighth grade located in Cypress, California. Our school offers a comprehensive Waldorf curriculum that includes Spanish, Mandarin, handwork, music, and choir. We have a strong emphasis on the outdoors, arts, and community. We are eagerly looking for like minded individuals to join our substitute teaching pool. Responsibilities: Provide classroom supervision and support based on plans left by classroom teacher Maintain a calm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment Uphold classroom rhythms, routines, and classroom rules/agreements Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play. Promote independent play, social-emotional development, and self-regulation skills Support students’ social emotional well-being throughout the day Communicate effectively with faculty and administrative staff Ensure student safety and follow all school policies and procedures Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree A valid California Teaching Credential or 30 day sub permit Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting. Waldorf training preferred, or interest in, or familiarity with Waldorf education Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to adapt, take initiative, and maintain a positive attitude On-call, part-time/as-needed basis Reliable, punctual, and able to work on short notice Must pass a background check and TB assessment Opportunities to s
