**1st Shift Fabricator, Battle Creek** + **_$26-38/hour_** + **_1st shift_** + **_Weekly Pay_** **Job Description** The Fabricator will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on all manufacturing equipment. A successful candidate will have a sense of urgency with a safety mindset. **Responsibilities** + Fabricate, weld, and assemble metal components for equipment, guards, fixtures, and structural improvements. + Troubleshoot issues and perform repairs on machinery, conveyors, platforms, and facility infrastructure. + Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics. + Perform MIG/TIG/Stick welding and cutting using torches, plasma cutters, and related tools. + Maintain and repair fabrication equipment such as welders, grinders, presses, and saws. + Assist with preventive maintenance activities and support broader maintenance team tasks. + Ensure all work adheres to safety standards, OSHA requirements, and company policies. + Collaborate with engineering or maintenance leadership to design cost-effective solutions for equipment improvements. + Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, parts used, and fabricate emergency breakdown repairs as needed to minimize equipment downtime. **Essential Skills** + 3+ years working in a maintenance department in a manufacturing environment. + 3+ years working with and maintaining automated machinery. + 1+ years of electrical troubleshooting. + Experience in PLC troubleshooting, industrial electrical, industrial maintenance, hydraulics, and pneumatics. + Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics. + Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Automotive background is a plus. + Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner. + Overtime (hours worked beyond 40 per week) is a required component of this role and is considered an essential job function. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a full benefits package from day one after completing a six-month contract-to-hire period. The plant spans close to 300,000 sq. ft., with 40% of work involving Chrysler and the rest distributed among various tiered suppliers and auto manufacturers. The position requires 50-hour work weeks, with most Saturdays worked until fully staffed. The 1st shift operates from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Battle Creek, MI. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
