Job Description

What is the opportunity?

RBC is hiring an Operational Risk Manager on a 12-month maternity cover FTC to support day-to-day risk oversight and monitoring activities.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is detailed-oriented, and comfortable working with risk processes, risk data, and stakeholder communication.

In this role, you will support the delivery of key operational risk activities across daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly cycles, ensuring reporting is accurate, risks are tracked effectively, and stakeholders are kept informed.

This role requires 4 days a week in the office.

What will you do?

Risk reporting and monitoring

Produce daily risk summaries covering new events, issues, and items in review queues

Prepare weekly and monthly risk reports and dashboards

Monthly reconciliation of reportable events and risk registers identifying discrepancies and escalating gaps

Help identify opportunities to improve reporting, controls, and operational risk processes.

Oversight and challenge of Risk programs

Support oversight and challenge of various Operational Risk programs including Risk Registers and RCSAs, Issues, ICAAP scenarios and Operational Resilience

Coordinating the allocation of oversight activities within the Wealth Management Europe team.

Stakeholder communication and coordination

Send recurring communications to stakeholders (e.g., risk event reminders, overdue actions)

Support discussions with stakeholders by preparing clear summaries and evidence.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with recurring reporting cycles

Ability to manage multiple tasks across different deadlines (daily/weekly/monthly deliverables)

Basic understanding of financial markets and risk concepts

Comfortable working with data

Strong analytical and Excel skills (filters, pivots, reconciliations, basic data analysis).

Nice-to-have

Experience in risk, compliance, controls, operations, audit, or a similar governance environment

Experience using PowerBi or other data visualisation tools

Interest in improving processes (automation, templates, reporting structure improvements).
