Our client, an industry leader in power systems and grid infrastructure, is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team. As a Controls Engineer, you will be part of the engineering department supporting protection and control projects. Design and develop protection schemes for T&D substations, Data Centers, Industrial, and BESS applications, including one-lines, three-lines, schematics, and relay settings. Lead a local or remote design team to create P&C designs such as protection single line diagrams, panel arrangements, wiring diagrams, and control schematics. Evaluate interoperability, control features, and communication protocols of IEC protection relays to ensure integrated solutions including SCADA, cybersecurity, and telecommunication needs. Work independently on detailed P&C drawings, perform design calculations, and develop optimized, safety-conscious designs. Coordinate with vendors, clients, and internal teams to review technical documentation, resolve technical issues, and support project execution from design through commissioning.What's Needed?
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college (Power major preferred). Minimum 5 years of experience in system protection schemes, relay selection, communication systems, and maintenance practices for transmission, distribution, and generation protection applications. Knowledge of IEC61850 process and system bus architecture, and experience with power system analysis software such as ETAP or Aspen Oneliner. Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to influence and build relationships effectively. Willingness to travel up to 20%, including international travel for project meetings and site commissioning.What's in it for me?
