Job Description
The CNC Machinist will receive a work sheet each shift containing a program code. The machinist will load the correct program into the CNC, which outlines all necessary steps for machine setup, including tools and equipment organization. Once the machine is set up, the machinist will produce small lot sizes, typically between 1 to 10 parts. The machinist will work primarily with cast iron and metal tubing, ensuring the machine runs correctly, adjusting speeds and feeds as necessary, and conducting proofing and quality checks using mics, calipers, and gauges.
Responsibilities
Load CNC program based on shift worksheet instructions.Set up CNC machines with necessary tools, jaws, vices, and locks.Operate CNC machines to produce parts in small lot sizes of 1-10.Monitor machine operations, adjust speeds and feeds as needed.Perform quality checks using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.Work with materials such as steel tubing and cast iron blocks.Maintain tolerances down to 5 tenths of a thou.Essential Skills
Experience with CNC setup, particularly Okuma lathes and mills with Fanuc controls.Proficiency in G&M code editing, speed and feed adjustments.Ability to perform tool changes, offsets, and part loading.Skilled in blueprint reading and use of calipers and micrometers.Experience with CNC machine setup and inspection processes.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Work Environment
The work environment is clean, climate-controlled, and well-organized with new machines. The facility is well-lit, providing a comfortable workspace. The available hours include the 2nd shift from 2PM-10PM, Monday-Friday, and the 3rd shift from 10PM-6AM, Sunday-Thursday.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
